The F3T is back at Orvis Baton Rouge again this year.  It will be shown this Friday, March 10th, doors open at 6:30 pm and the show time is at 7:00 pm.  There may be a few tickets left so stop by Orvis to pick one up for $15 – be sure to bring cash.  Proceeds from the show will again go to benefit the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, who will be providing the beer – be sure to thank them.

The Fly Fishing Film Tour will be back at Orvis in Baton Rouge in 2015.  Alex and the gang will be hosting the event Friday February 27th at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $15 and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana.  I’m not sure if ticket sales have started, but the date has been posted and I believe tickets will only be available through the store this year – so stop by the store for more details.  You can watch trailers for some of the F3T lineup here: http://www.flyfilmtour.com/watch-trailers/

2015 F3T

You might remember Sandflea from this year’s F3T submission “Alaska: La Frontera Norte”. He was definitely one of the more entertaining people in this years film line up.

Speaking of the F3T, I did make it out to the showing at Orvis of Baton Rouge last Friday. It was a good time, got to catch up with a few folks I had not seen in awhile. Alex did a great job hosting everyone. It was nice to see folks younger than myself in attendance, usually fly fishing events around here attract the opposite, not that there is anything wrong with the “greatest generation”, but a little young blood is good for the sport.

Overall, I thought the films were pretty good with the first half being the most entertaining. I was prepared the break the entire line up down, but then I thought I’d better not – the film tour is still young  this year and I wouldn’t want to ruin it for anyone. I’ll just say that if you need to use the bathroom, go during “North of Wild” or “Long Live the King” because you won’t want to go during any of the other films.
