Mountains to Marsh is mainly about fishing, as it is something I am very passionate about.  I can’t really put into words what it is about fishing that draws me to the sport.  I go fishing time and time again, it just never gets old.  I don’t think it will either because there really is no end game in fishing.  You can’t catch all the fish in the World and you can’t possibly fish everywhere in the World.  There will always be new challenges and places that make every trip as significant as the last.  Kayak fishing, fly fishing, offshore, inshore, bluelining, brownlining, perch jerking, whatever – it’s all fair game for me.  I can’t be on the water every day, got to make a living somehow, I do have a life outside of fishing, so I’ll cover other topics of interest as well.

Family and friends play a big role in my life and are certain to be featured here at times.  I’m married to a wonderful woman that puts up with my addiction better than I could have ever imagined anyone would.  We have big families and great groups of friends that we enjoy spending time with, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love to eat and I love a good brew.  Expect a smattering of food and drink when I can’t find time to wet a line.  I’m a sucker for domestic craft brews and enjoy sampling the growing selection provided by the local grocery store.  Louisiana still leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to selling good beer, but it has been heaven for the taste buds.  Sometimes I feel like I may be sacrificing my health by eating the things I do, but I guess I’ll worry about that in the future.  I can still boulder up those little creeks I love in North Georgia, I’ll consider that the litmus test.

I love music, especially classic rock.  I probably won’t introduce anyone to anything new (I can’t keep up with the Indie rock scene), but I will certainly share some of my favorites when I feel compelled.  I wish I had a musical bone in my body, but it just wasn’t in the cards.

Fall means one thing in Baton Rouge, LSU football.  My wife and I are big fans, LSU is where we met after all.  Tailgating and the road trips we take to see the Tigers play are prominent events this time of year, so you non-football types will have to suffer through that at times.  Fishing is usually lagniappe when we’re on those trips, but that just makes it all the more special when it does happen.  Anyway, enjoy the blog and Geaux Tigers!
