The 3rd annual Louisiana Adventure Expo was held today at Pack & Paddle. What a cool event! I enjoyed it last year and this year was just as fun. Sales reps and team members from various outdoor industries were there with booths giving out swag and talking to people about their products. Representatives from Jackson Kayak, Diablo Paddleports, Wilderness Systems, Native, Nucanoe, Hurricane, Hobie, TFO, Costa, The North Face, Kelty, Chaco, and others I can’t remember off the top of my head, were all in attendance. Everyone I talked with was very friendly, I love the vibe in this industry. I imagine it to be like a mini Outdoor Retailer show (I’ve never been to the real OR show, so I can only speculate). John had asked me to do a seminar on shooting video from the kayak, which I did. It went pretty well, had a good little group of guys who attended. Then Bo, from P&P, walks up with a new GoPro Hero 2 and I lost everyone’s attention, lol.
Tomorrow will be an accompanying kayak demo day at Lake Martin, south of Breaux Bridge. Come on out if you want to paddle some kayaks, it’s free, you just have to sign a waiver. The weather should be nicer than it was today, sunny and temps in the 60’s. It will be held between 10 – 2, and I think John will run some deals if you’re interested in making a purchase.
